Competitions & Tournaments
Swimming & Water Polo
Avalon competes in all four NSZKs (Dutch Student Swimming Competition) and four NSWKs (Dutch Student Water Polo Competition) held every season. Each competition will bring an amazing weekend where we get the chance to compete against our sister associations, party alongside them and enjoy a nice meal together. All in all, a very good time!
The competitions are always hosted by different associations across the Netherlands, which means that you get to explore a different city as well every time!

NSZK
A typical NSZK weekend consists of a pre-drink on Friday evening and the competition, dinner and a big party on Saturday. There is no obligation to join the whole weekend; you can choose to join all events or only certain ones!
NSZKs also welcome and have swimmers from all levels! It doesn’t matter if you’re not a super confident swimmer (yet), you can be placed in a heat with swimmers of your level.
The competition itself is free of charge. Dinner after the NSZK, sleeping arrangements, and access to the party usually cost about 8 – 12 euros (depending on the amount of events you join).
NSWK
A typical NSWK weekend consists of a big party on Saturday and a water polo tournament and dinner on Sunday. There is no obligation to join the whole weekend; you can choose to join all events or only certain ones!
NSWKs also welcome and have water polo players from all levels! It doesn’t matter if you’re not super experienced (yet), you can be placed in a team that suits you best.
The competition itself is free of charge. Dinner after the NSWK, sleeping arrangements and access to the party usually cost about 8 – 15 euros (depending on the amount of events you join).
Besides NSWKs we’re also joining several tournaments, like for example Goffert.
